E-ZPass gives you the time you need and the convenience you want!
With E-ZPass there's a better way to travel and pay tolls -- one that saves you time and offers convenience. And now, its applications are being expanded with E-ZPass Plus. It's a service being extended to all E-ZPass patrons who use a credit card to replenish their accounts.
E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection program. It deducts your toll from a prepaid account while you keep moving. E-ZPass is convenient because there is no need for coins or tickets. Even better, E-ZPass can save you money on the Atlantic City Expressway and on some other participating toll facilities. You may be eligible to sign up for the Expressway's Frequent User program which can save you up to 35 percent off of each toll charge. So take advantage of the freedom to keep moving. Get E-ZPass today by calling 1-888-AUTO-TOLL, by visiting an E-ZPass Customer Service Center, by getting an E-ZPass application at participating toll plazas, or by visiting the E-ZPass web site at www.ezpassnj.com.
Here's how it works:
When you set up an E-ZPass prepaid account, you receive a small electronic tag that attaches to your vehicle. Each time you use a toll facility where E-ZPass is accepted, an electronic antenna at the toll plaza reads the account information from your E-ZPass tag. The correct toll is then debited from your prepaid account. That's all there is to it!
The toll plaza uses sensors to detect the number of axles on your vehicle, so the appropriate toll is deducted. The Automatic Vehicle Identification antenna reads the account information on your E-ZPass tag, verifies the information (including your current account balance) and automatically deducts the toll from your account. As you proceed through the toll plaza, a Patron Display will tell you that the correct toll has been paid. For even more details on how E-ZPass works, visit the E-ZPass web site at www.ezpassnj.com.
Because E-ZPass technology is becoming widely adopted, E-ZPass customers are able to use their E-ZPass tags on roads throughout the Northeast. Remember, one E-ZPass tag will work anywhere that E-ZPass is accepted! All you need is one account to use E-ZPass on any participating toll facility. It is also available on the Garden State Parkway, Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin bridges, and in Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and NY Thruway, and the PA and NJ Turnpikes.
