Direct service from ACY to Atlanta Begins May 17, 2012
Egg Harbor Township, NJ – Air travel from Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) to Atlanta, Georgia (ATL) is again available beginning on May 17, 2012, and can now continue on to Dallas-Ft Worth without changing planes.
“It’s great that Spirit Airlines stepped in to offer non-stop flights to Atlanta, giving our customers options to connect to even more cities,” said Bart R. Mueller, Executive Director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the owner and operator of the airport. “Spirit executives have recognized the potential market at ACY, and this added service is good news for Atlantic City, the South Jersey region and all of our customers. We are pleased to play a role in making Atlantic City and the region accessible to strategic U.S. markets through air service.”
“Our super low fares between Atlanta and Atlantic City are allowing even more travelers to save money on travel and take advantage of the casinos, beaches and all that the Jersey Shore has to offer,” says Mark Kopczak, Spirit’s Senior Director of Network Planning.
Officials at ACY have unveiled a growing roster of direct destinations over the past few weeks. In addition to Atlanta, ACY passengers can also book flights to Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Myrtle Beach and several South Florida cities. A second non-stop flight to Boston also begins on May 17, 2012.
The assurance of affordable flights has become somewhat of a trademark for Atlantic City International Airport as the airport has been consistently recognized as the airport with the lowest fares in the United States by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics for more than four consecutive quarters.
