The new website launched by the South Jersey Transportation Authority provides a wealth of information on its activities and its components, the Atlantic City Expressway or Atlantic City International Airport.
The new website is reachable at the Authority’s old address, www.sjta.com.
The new site contains a current weather report, a real-time look at statewide highway conditions with a link to the state DOT’s Traffic Operations Center plus lots of information the public can use to plan travel, whether by road, rail or airplane. It offers detailed information on airport services and parking. Links to the airlines enable travelers to peruse flight schedules and to book a reservation -– and Flightview’s Tracker program gives travelers the real-time status of planes on the ground or in the air.
On the ground, travelers can use the website to find a rental car or book a limousine ride.
Motorists can learn Expressway tolls for each interchange and Atlantic City parking facilities’ hours and rates. The website also makes it easier for the traveling public to resolve any problems they may have with tolls or parking by giving them direct access to problem solvers.
It also allows the Authority to conduct business so the public can see it happen.
“Our redesign aims to fulfill our mission to better serve the public and to provide the latest technologies to give the public access to us,” said Acting Executive Director James R. Iannone.
The website -- www.sjta.com -- also tells travelers of the available amenities they can enjoy at the airport or the Expressway’s Farley Service Plaza. Another feature is an opportunity for the public to comment on their experience with the SJTA or to send in suggestions.
“Our goal is to open the Authority to interact more with the public, so we can improve our delivery of services to them,” said Deputy Executive Director Bart Mueller.
