About E-ZPass
E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection program that deducts your toll from a prepaid account while you keep moving. Here's how it works:
- When you set up an E-ZPass prepaid account, you receive a small electronic transponder that attaches to the inside of your vehicle.
- Each time you use a toll facility where E-ZPass is accepted (currently in 19 states), an electronic antenna at the toll plaza reads the account information from your E-ZPass tag.
- The correct toll is then debited from your prepaid account.
