ACY Welcomes Return of Boston Service on March 1, 2012

Egg Harbor Township, NJ Beantown and the Jersey Shore will have a direct connect once again as officials at Atlantic City International Airport welcome the return of Spirit Airlines seasonal service from Boston on Thursday, March 1.

Once again, Spirit is meeting the demand for air service to Atlantic City from key markets starting with the return of daily service to Boston, said Bart R. Mueller, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the owner and operator of the airport.

As the summer season approaches, Spirit will also resume seasonal service between Atlantic City and Detroit and Chicago OHare on May 3. Later in May, Spirit will launch new seasonal service between Atlantic City and Atlanta, connecting on to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Direct access to these cities offers travelers the ability to quickly and conveniently take advantage of all the region has to offer, including Atlantic City and other South Jersey attractions.

Low fares continue to be a selling point as Atlantic City Airport extends its reign as the U.S. airport with the overall lowest fares, according to a January 26, 2012 report from the US Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation statistics.

This year will be viewed as a transitional year as the Airport coordinates with Atlantic City in identifying and targeting priority markets, added Mueller.
